Zoapod 12: Blake’s Poems – The Lamb and The Tyger
This podcast provides an interpretation of two of Blake’s most popular poems from Songs of Innocence and of Experience.
This podcast is taken from chapter four of the Zoamorphosis Essential Introductions: Songs of Innocence and of Experience.
You’re welcome. I try to add these bits and pieces on a more or less regular basis – and am looking forward to seeing more live readings on your site. (My own readings here are perhaps a little too formal, but when teaching I am constantly attempting to get students to do the simplest thing and read out loud as, without that step, too much of what they are trying to understand passes them by…)
Thank you for these podcasts. I just listened to The Lamb and The Tyger. I like the point that you brought out about the polarities – that both poles are necessary. It is such a modern task for the human being to allow for opposites to be opposite, while “here in the middle stand I.” This is how we may become whole. I am so grateful for William Blake and for you dedicating your time to these things.
